Stephen Kimmerling designs, markets, and executes high-level public programs for the New School president. These programs focus on leading global and domestic affairs and feature top political, cultural, and intellectual figures. His responsibilities include collaboration with other departments on donor outreach, community-building, and fundraising; building alliances with diverse outside institutions; and overseeing programs’ marketing and media relations efforts. Mr. Kimmerling also creates and manages procedures aimed at university-wide centralization of key public programming operations. His prior experience includes serving the New York University School of Law as Cuba Conferences Director, where he designed and organized conferences on U.S.-Cuba relations and Cuban affairs. He is the former Firmwide Events and Client Relations Manager for an international law firm. Mr. Kimmerling also served as Co-Director of the Department of Conference Programming for the Direct Marketing Association, a 4,500-member international trade association, where he created and managed their U.S. and Latin America conferences. He holds a J.D. from the New York University School of Law and is fluent in Spanish.
